Millions of people around the world have found their answer in the ancient meditation practice of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong). From a remote age this practice has been passed down from a single master to a single disciple. Falun Dafa was introduced to public for the first time by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992 in China. Five gentle and effective exercises are taught in Falun Dafa, but the emphasis is placed on cultivation of the mind or cultivation of moral character. The five exercises of Falun Dafa are as follows:
Exercise 1: Buddha Showing a Thousand Hands Exercise
This exercise opens all the energy channels of the body so that the flow of energy in the body can be unrestricted. While practicing this exercise, the body will feel warm and will experience a unique feeling as if there is a very strong energy field.
Exercise 2: Falun Standing Stance Exercise
This exercise is done in standing meditative position with four postures. After exercise, the whole body will feel light without feeling of any tiredness. This exercise opens up the whole body and increases endurance. Falun standing stance exercise is a method of intensive meditation, which increases wisdom, raises level and strengthens divine powers.
Exercise 3: Penetrating the Two Cosmic Extremes Exercise
The purpose of this exercise is to mix and merge the universe’s energy with the energy inside the body. This results in purification of the body. In a very short time, practitioners can remove pathogenic qi from their body and can take the energy of the universe in sufficient quantity, which makes their body clean and pure.
Exercise 4: Falun Heavenly Circuit Exercise
This exercise enables the human body’s energy to circulate over large areas. This exercise goes far
beyond the usual methods of opening up the meridians and the great and small heavenly circuits. This
exercise uses the Law Wheel’s rotation to rectify all abnormal conditions in the human body.
Exercise 5: Exercise to Strengthen Divine Powers
This practice is a high-level meditation practice, which strengthens a person's energy potency and divine powers. During the exercise, the flow of qi is strong and the energy field around the body is large.
